The only possible shortcoming I can hear in the Statements is a slight enclosure resonance in the 300 to 400hz range that's apparent with some female vocalists (e.g. Patricia Barbara, Jennifer Warnes) whose voices are already resonant at that frequency. This anomaly isn't too audible, but the resonance can be felt in the enclosure panels adjecent to the woofers and in the top panel. The area of the side that's reinforced by the vertical braces is dead silent at all frequencies. As an attempt to tame this resonance in my second pair of Statements I substituted full braces for the 5X10 partial braces behind the woofers, and I lined the top and bottom sections of the sides with 1/2" plywood. I also lined the top with 3/4" plywood. To compensate for the lost volume I increased the depth of the enclosure by 3/4".
