FredT300B > The "Talleray", standing 7' 4" tall, is an open back dipole line array featuring fourteen 5.25" Foster extended range midwoofers and an Eminence compression driver mounted to a Dayton waveguide. Impedance is 7 ohms, sensitivity is about 96dB. The midwoofers run full range; the tweeter crossove is a 2nd order.

FredT300B > One partially completed crossover. Geting the crossover right is the hardest part of building from scratch. The woofer section is 2nd order, the tweeter is 3rd order, crossed over at about 2.5khz.
FredT300B > Each enclosure receives three coats of fast drying semi gloss polyurethane varnish from a spray can. To get a smooth furniture finish the varnished cabinet must sit for 72 hours, after which I will lightly sand it with #220 paper and apply one final coat.
FredT300B > Speakers to be compared in the 11/14 Houston Audio Society meeting include (L to R) 1) The Art Array line arrays, 2) Maggie MMG dipoles on elevator heels, 3) Jim Griffin design full range driver with supertweeter MLTL bipoles, 4) Brines Acoustics TT-2000 using the new Tang Band W8-1772 full range drivers, and 5) Selah Audio Texas Revelator Tower 2.5-way using Scan Speak Revelator drivers.
