FredT300B > The "Statements", a five foot tall three-way W-M-T-M-W design by Jim Holtz using 8" Dayton reference series aluminum cone woofers, 4" Tang Band titanium cone midranges, and a Fountek ribbon tweeter. Crossovers are at 350hz and 3.7khz.
FredT300B > Backside of the baffle. The tweeter is an Eminence ASD-1001 compression driver.
FredT300B > The "Tallerays" are so named because they're taller than almost any other speaker I know of. Each speaker, standing 7'4" tall by 16" wide by 2.5" deep, includes 14 Foster 5.25" midwoofers and a single centrally positioned Eminence compression driver mounted to a Dayton waveguide. Impedance is seven ohms and sensitivity is about 96dB. The midwoofers' top end is attenuated by a single 0.5mH inductor. They cross over to the tweeter via a second order crossover. The bass response rolls off below 70hz, so a subwoofer is recommended to reinforce the lower octaves.
